Work backwards from your new front door
Find out when you can collect the keys and who can receive your belongings. Check whether the building limits unloading hours or requires a lift reservation. If you leave Sweden before collection, name a person who can provide access and agree what they need to oversee.
Treat collection and delivery as separate appointments. State which dates are essential and where there is room to adjust. Arrange travel and temporary accommodation around the agreed delivery window once it has been confirmed in writing.
Build an inventory around the home you are moving into
List furniture by room, estimate the number of packed boxes and measure large items. Include basement storage, bicycles and balcony furniture. Separate belongings that travel with you from items going into storage or staying behind.
Flag fragile pieces, unusually heavy objects and furniture that needs disassembly. Useful photographs show the item and access constraints without unrelated personal information. Keep medicines, keys and original documents available during your own journey.
Make access clear at each end of the journey
An international route still starts and finishes with carrying. Give the floor, lift dimensions, stairs and distance between the loading position and the entrance. Check whether a vehicle can stop close to each property and who must arrange any loading permissions.
If you only know the destination city, explain that in your first enquiry. A final arrangement needs enough detail to assess unloading and access. Update the request when the address or inventory changes rather than relying on the original estimate.
Agree the handovers before accepting the quote
Ask for collection, transport, unloading and packing responsibilities to be written down. If transfer between vehicles or temporary storage is proposed, clarify when it happens and who handles questions at each stage.
Request the transport and insurance terms for your actual journey. Check exclusions, owner-packed boxes, claim limits and the procedure for recording damage. The destination, dates and goods need individual assessment; a request alone does not reserve a route.

- Yes. Contact Movon with the destination and details you have, and explain what is still undecided. A confirmed plan requires the missing information to be assessed.
- Can belongings travel in separate stages?
- Describe the items, stops and timing for each stage. Storage or multiple deliveries must be assessed and included in the written scope.
- What if my new home is not ready?
- Raise this before booking. Ask for written storage, redelivery and cost conditions if access is delayed.
