How Movon works
Movon accepts requests for international and long-distance moves. Route, volume, border requirements, documents, delivery windows, and storage needs are assessed before the setup can be confirmed.
You can submit the details in Swedish or English. We use them to assess the move and respond with scope, timing, price model, and next steps. The request is not a booking until you accept the quote.
Booking and quote
Send a request once you know the move date. Availability varies, particularly around weekends and month ends, and is not confirmed until it appears in an accepted quote or written confirmation.
The quote brief needs both addresses, property type, floor area, and preferred date. Floor level, elevator size, carry distance, parking, attics, basements, garages, and separate storage can change the working time substantially. Include pianos, safes, large glass items, or anything that may need specialist equipment. Destination access matters just as much as pickup access.
The quote may use a fixed price, hourly price, or another clearly defined model depending on the job. The price model must be stated before you accept. A fixed price relies on accurate information about inventory, access, addresses, and services, so changes to the scope need to be confirmed before moving day.
Short-notice availability varies. State the preferred date and any flexibility in the request. The date and setup are not confirmed until they appear in an accepted quote or written confirmation.
Pricing and deductions
Volume, floors, elevator access, walk distance, number of movers, add-on services, heavy items, and timing.
RUT may apply to eligible labour for moving and move-out cleaning when the Swedish Tax Agency conditions and the customer’s individual circumstances are met. Transport, vehicle, fuel, materials, and storage rent are examples of costs that normally do not qualify. A useful quote separates labour from the other charges.
The payment method, due date, and any invoice terms should be stated in the quote and terms you accept. Check them before the booking is confirmed and ask if anything is unclear.
Be flexible with dates, declutter before the move, pack on your own, and ensure smooth access and parking.
Comparing quotes and choosing movers
No. The form collects a quote brief. The details are reviewed before price, crew size, and timing are assessed. You are sending a request, not making a binding booking, and you decide after reviewing the quote and terms.
Check that both quotes use the same inventory, addresses, floors, elevators, carry distances, and date. Then compare crew size, hours or fixed price, minimum charge, travel, materials, heavy items, waiting time, RUT, insurance, and cancellation terms. A lower total is not comparable if important work is missing.
Professional paid road haulage generally requires the relevant Swedish transport permit, subject to statutory exceptions. Ask who will perform the job, what liability insurance applies, and which terms cover your belongings. A written agreement and recognised industry terms, such as Bohag 2010 when used, make responsibility and claims easier to understand.
Submitting a request does not book the move. Treat it as booked only after the contracting party has confirmed the date, scope, and terms in writing following your acceptance. Check that cleaning, storage, packing, or heavy items are included when relevant.
Planning and preparation
Update your address, transfer subscriptions, book cleaning, label boxes, and prepare key handover details.
Pack by room, label clearly, protect fragile items, and keep heavy items in smaller boxes.
Include packing assistance and materials in the request. The quote should confirm whether they can be provided, what is included, and any material charges.
Moving day
It depends on volume, access, carry distances, and additional services. The quote should state the estimated duration and which changes may affect it.
Being present at the start and finish helps with the handover. If that is not possible, agree key handling, an authorised contact, and instructions in writing beforehand.
State parking and carry-distance details for both addresses. Missing parking or longer carry distances can affect time and price and should be reflected in the quote.
Heavy and fragile items
Describe the item’s dimensions, weight, position, and access in advance. The quote should confirm whether the job can be performed and which equipment and crew are included.
Ask the provider to describe packing, furniture protection, and load-securing methods for fragile items. Check what is included and what the customer must prepare.
Storage
Select storage in the request and describe the period, approximate volume, and access needs. The quote should state whether storage can be offered, where it takes place, and which terms apply.
The quote should identify the facility or responsible provider, access, protection and labelling routines, insurance terms, and the damage-reporting process.
Move-out cleaning
Include move-out cleaning as a requested add-on. The quote should confirm availability, scope, timing, price, and the terms for addressing any cleaning complaint.
The exact scope should be listed in the quote. Typical work covers the kitchen, bathroom, floors, skirting boards, cupboards, wardrobes, and accessible appliance surfaces. Windows, balconies, glazed areas, storage rooms, and secondary spaces need separate confirmation. The home normally needs to be empty, and appliances may need defrosting or moving in advance.
Insurance and damages
Ask for written information about liability insurance, deductibles, exclusions, and how damage must be reported. The exact cover should be tied to the contracting party and service provider named in the quote.
Photograph the damage and packaging, note when it was found, and contact the contracting party promptly with the booking reference. Do not discard damaged items or protective materials before the case is assessed. Follow the complaint route in the agreement and retain the evidence needed for assessment.
Changes and cancellations
Contact the contracting party as early as possible. A changed date, scope, and any price adjustment should be confirmed in writing before taking effect.
Cancellation deadlines and any charges must be stated in the quote and terms you accept. Check the rules for the named contracting party and service before accepting, and request written confirmation of a cancellation.
Address updates and subscriptions
Register your move with the authorities and update postal forwarding. Review utilities and insurance.
Arrange transfers early so electricity, internet, and insurance are active on move-in day.
Kids and pets
Plan ahead, keep a quiet room, and consider childcare or pet care for the move day.
