Moving to Sweden: Addresses, Building Access, RUT, and Quote Details
For a move to Sweden, the delivery address needs more detail than a town and postcode. Confirm the street address, postcode, town, correct entrance, and contact person. An apartment may also have an official four-digit identifier that differs from the number shown on the door.
Ask the landlord, agent, or housing association how keys are collected, which moving hours apply, and whether the elevator must be reserved or protected. Measure large furniture against the entrance, doors, and elevator. Record stairs, garages, courtyards, and the carry distance from a practical stopping point.
Prepare an inventory that works for transport planning and your own checks. Mark fragile and heavy items, valuables you will carry yourself, and anything going into storage. Keep passports, medication, chargers, keys, and first-night essentials out of the moving load.
If the goods arrive from outside the EU, customs and document requirements may affect transport. The rules depend on the circumstances and contents. Check current requirements with the relevant authorities and carrier, and ask in writing who is responsible for documents and possible charges.
RUT may apply to eligible work involving household goods between the customer’s homes or to and from storage within the EU/EEA or Switzerland when the Swedish Tax Agency conditions are met. The deduction is 50 percent of eligible labour. The vehicle, fuel, boxes, storage rent, and travel between the provider’s premises and the home do not qualify. Eligibility and available allowance are individual.
Ask for a quote that separates labour before RUT, the estimated deduction, and other costs. Describe both addresses, inventory, access, and requested services. Movon’s form gathers the details for manual review before a quote is issued; it does not calculate an instant price or confirm a booking immediately.
